The idea is simple, ask them to fill out a form before a file can be downloaded. Send them an email with a download link. Clicking the download link confirms their email address and sends them the file. Imagine no more bogus email addresses!
A primary goal of the design is simplicity. The entire script, templates and everything fits into just one single CGI script. If you have experience installing CGI programs, you'll be up and running in no time.
The user manual (in pdf or plain text) is extensive and covers all the configuration options (including the esoteric options that you'll probably never use).
Despite being only one file, everything is template driven to allow you to tailor the output to your design, including email and CSS (style sheets).
