GenieGate, Version 1.1.0 (PHP 5) manual

Chapter 4. Administrative functions

Abstract

You may safely skim most of this section, it is a reference for the user administrative interface, the important portion is the "Expunge" function, which must be run periodically. The rest is more or less self explanatory.

The administrative interface is GenieGate's "control panel" It allows you to add and remove user accounts, create and modify groups, change passwords, setup paypal, properties, perform queries and other administrative tasks.

Sign On

Before you can begin using GenieGate you must sign in. Only those who are in the admin group may sign in to the control panel.

When you setup the database you created a special user named root who is already a member of the admin group. If you have multiple staff members, you can create an account for each of them, then grant them access to "admin".

[Tip] Tip

Whenever possible, GenieGate preserves the form between logins. This is to avoid retyping information if your login session times out before you had the chance to save.

If you are having difficulties signing in, it may be due to the previous "logout" selection. You may be instructing GenieGate is log out immediately after logging in. This can throw people off guard at times. Try selecting "Main" from the menu and then login.
